For parishes

A shared purpose begins in the parish

Parish participation begins with personal communication. The Parish Charitable Committee helps explain the needs of clergy and families, the purpose of voluntary monthly support, and how to set it up. The parish account, links, QR codes and materials serve this work; they do not replace it.

Parish Charitable Committee

With the Bishop’s blessing, each parish is called to establish a Parish Charitable Committee of active parishioners, preferably with the churchwarden, a deacon or subdeacon, reader or altar server. Care for the Fund is not the priest’s task alone: personal example and ongoing communication by lay people with both established and new parishioners are important.

The committee introduces the Fund to every family, explains that participation is voluntary and helps set up regular monthly giving. An announcement or poster alone is not enough: personal conversations, answers to questions and help with links, QR codes and materials are needed.

At the meeting on 17 September, rectors were asked to give Deacon Pavel Lisitsin the name and contact details of the person responsible once the committee is formed, for ongoing support.

An introduction to share with parishioners

Dear Brothers and Sisters, we invite you to take part in lasting care for priests, deacons, their wives and children through the Clergy Assistance Fund. A small, voluntary monthly gift — for example €10, £10 or CHF 10, or another amount within your means — helps build sustainable support today and for future generations. One-off gifts are also gratefully received. Ask your parish contact for details, or use the parish link and QR code.
